Project Manager

Aïda credits her cultural background for shaping the way she sees life and directing her towards her chosen academic path. She holds a degree and master’s degree in Foreign Languages, specializing in French. Her many travel experiences around the world have given her an appreciation of the culture that surrounds us and the importance of linguistic diversity, and, as such, the significance of communication. As an assistant project manager at Language Department, this is a philosophy she implements on a daily basis in her work facilitating communication through translation within various companies.

MELISSA HERNANDEZ

Melissa Hernández is a Hispanic Literature graduate with a master’s degree in Mexican Literature. Her experience working as a journalist, copy editor, and writer, and her keen eye for linguistic, translation and cultural detail make Melissa one of our most skilled Project Managers.

GABRIEL PUIG

Business Strategy Consultant

Gabriel is a serial entrepreneur, seasoned investor, and professional Industrial Engineer with over 20 years of top management experience. Having worked at Accenture and Sara Lee, he currently is both a partner and member of Board of Directors at Immfly, a digital technology business company based in Barcelona, he is a long-distance runner in the business world who aims to make a successful, profitable growth journey in a (local) company on a global market.

CAROLINA LEON

Senior Project Manager

Initially a Philosophy major, with a background in Film Production, Carolina took the not-so-traditional route to become a Project Manager at Language Department.
Coming on board as an English/Spanish translator for a large client, Carolina was recognized for her excellent communication, out-of-the-box thinking and organizational skills, and offered the role of Project Manager, where she now oversees all direct communications with Language Departments clients and vendors.

JOAN PUIG

Head of Production (co-founder)

Joan is a true problem solver that will complete any and all projects to perfection. Active in the publishing world since 1999 in Mexico, and 2001 in Barcelona, Joan began working as a publisher, editor and translator from English, Portuguese and Catalan into Spanish. Before joining Language Department, Joan studied Literature and Translation, specializing as a Project Manager in leading companies within the language and publishing industries.

PAUL ELWOOD

Principal (co-founder)

Paul has worked in the translation and language services industry for over 25 years, involving projects from basic diplomas to IMAX movies, subtitles to product packaging, web development and more. After living in LA for 14 years, he relocated to Barcelona where he launched the Language Department’s European branch. Over the years, Paul has personally casted and directed talent for on-camera hosts, produced a score of web sites, and managed languages well beyond the everyday need.
